Title
From Power Systems to Intelligent Systems: Enriching AI Through Energy Physics Data
Abstact
The 4th industrial revolution spearheaded by the Global AI resurgence and the resulting technological advancements provide new thought paradigms. The electrical infrastructure around the world remains the prime energy source to support AI to realize its full potential. This a paper is suggesting the use of the underlying physics and material science within the power industry to create data sets consisting of atomic level data, existing operational and synthetic data from generation and transmission source and international R&D . These combined sources we are positing becomes an enriched data environment to produce advanced agentic driven LLMS for development across all industries by virtue of electricity being the common catalyst.
Biography
Bai-Bureh Kendrick Blyden is a distinguished power engineer, development strategist, and technology innovator whose career bridges advanced energy systems, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development across Africa and the global diaspora.
A member of the prominent Blyden family, he is the son of Edward Wilmot Blyden III and a direct descendant of Edward Wilmot Blyden, widely regarded as a foundational figure in Pan-African thought. This legacy has deeply informed his lifelong commitment to leveraging technology and infrastructure for social and economic transformation.
Blyden received his formal training in power engineering from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, where he earned a master’s degree specializing in power systems, power plant engineering, and industrial energy distribution. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to the design, development, and execution of more than forty power generation projects worldwide, working in senior engineering roles within major energy firms, including Southern Company.
Expanding beyond traditional engineering, Blyden has pursued advanced studies in artificial intelligence and digital innovation, completing professional coursework in AI through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His work increasingly focuses on integrating AI-driven solutions with energy infrastructure to accelerate development outcomes in emerging markets.
A committed advocate for global knowledge exchange, Blyden is multilingual, with proficiency in several languages that support his international collaborations across Africa, Europe, and North America. His cross-cultural fluency has enhanced his effectiveness in leading complex, multinational projects and mentoring diverse teams.
He is also actively engaged with the IEEE Smart Village initiative, where he serves as an ambassador and mentor, helping deploy sustainable electrification solutions—particularly solar-based systems—to underserved communities. Central to his development philosophy is the concept of the “Knowledge Engine,” a framework emphasizing technical education, capacity building, and localized innovation as drivers of long-term economic growth.
Through his combined expertise in engineering, artificial intelligence, and international development, Bai-Bureh Kendrick Blyden continues to advance a vision in which access to energy and knowledge serves as the foundation for inclusive prosperity.
