Special Sessions
Next-Generation Smart Water Solutions
AIM & SCOPE
The global water crisis, exacerbated by climate change and rapid urbanization, demands a paradigm shift in how we manage our water resources. This session aims to bridge the gap between advanced engineering and practical water management. We invite researchers to submit original papers exploring how emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and advanced numerical modelling, can optimize water use, improve non-conventional water treatment, and strengthen the resilience of agricultural and urban systems. Contributions highlighting low-cost, scalable technological solutions adapted for arid and semi-arid regions are particularly encouraged.
TRACKS
The scope of this session includes, but is not limited to the following topics:
- Smart irrigation systems
- Advanced Wastewater Treatment and Water Reuse (REUT)
- Numerical modeling of water flow and solute transport
- Digital Twins for hydraulic infrastructure and management
- Advanced DSS for integrated water resources management (IWRM) under climate uncertainty.
- Remote sensing for precision water monitoring
- Sustainable desalination and brine management solutions.
- Water-Energy-Food Nexus optimization
- Proactive and predictive management in Water Resources
- Integrating green technologies for decentralized water treatment and urban runoff
- Technological adaptation strategies for resilient food systems in water-scarce environments.
