As a complex man-machine-network integration system, nuclear power plants (NPPs) face challenges such as fault Diagnosis, limited automation, and stressed operators. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can help address these issues. This talk presents a systematic overview of how AI can enhance NPPs from a wholistic perspective. This novel study examines current NPP limitations and introduces the concept of the Nuclear Power Plant Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) as a high-level design framework. This discussion categorizes AI applications in nuclear power into theoretical algorithms and application technologies, reviewing research across functional scenarios from the past decades. Each scenario highlights the integration of AI in NPPs over time. The aim of this talk is to serve as a guideline for futuristic NPP design and to support the development of a greener Energy systems. Moreover, the standardization of the next Gen. V. NPPs will be proposed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><i>Keywords: <\/i>Artificial Intelligence, Gen. V. Since 1992 he is a researcher at the (NCRRT\/EAEA. \u00a0In 1997 he received his M.Sc. in automatic control and measurement engineering. From 1997 to 1998 he was guest researcher at research centre J\u00fclich (FZJ), Germany. From 2000 to 2004 he was a doctoral student (DAAD-scholarship) at Wilhelm Schickard Institute for informatics (WSI), Eberhard-Karls-University, T\u00fcbingen, Germany.
